Conscious Living Counseling strives to highlight events that decrease isolation, promote physical movement, and build awareness and community support.
In the United States, every 15 minutes a person dies by suicide, claiming more than 36,000 lives each year. This public health issue is the fourth leading cause of death in the U.S. among adults 18-65. Suicide does not discriminate by age, gender, ethnicity or socio-economic status.
In North Dakota, someone is lost to suicide every four days. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s (AFSP) “Out of the Darkness” Community Walk raises money for AFSP’s research, brings new education and screening programs to our schools, increases awareness about depression and provides support for survivors of suicide loss.
The walk will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Lindenwood Park. Registration is at 1:00 PM with the walk starting at 2:00 PM.
