Sunshine: Just another reason to go outside

A study recently published in the journal Biological Psychiatry found that sunnier climates may keep rates of ADHD lower. One speculation is that as people spend more time behind digital screens, their biological clocks and sleep cycles might be interrupted, producing more ADHD symptoms. The blue light from the screens disrupts melatonin production, which is a hormone that naturally indicates to us to go to sleep.  (As if ADHD don't have enough problems with sleep.) Getting sunshine regularly could help better regulate these internal systems.

No matter the connection with ADHD, vitamin D from the sun and good sleep hygiene are important ingredients for optimal body function.
